About the Society

The Society for Excellence in Arbitration Law of Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University, Lucknow is a student-run body that is dedicated to the study and promotion of arbitration and alternative dispute resolution. Established in 2015, the Society seeks to provide a platform for learning, dialogue, and collaboration among students and practitioners of arbitration law, bridging the gap between knowledge and accessibility in the meantime.

In addition to its publications, SEAL regularly hosts academic sessions focusing on recent updates, legislative changes, and landmark judicial decisions in arbitration. The Society also organises Arbitration Weekend, a flagship event that brings together leading legal practitioners and experts in arbitration, who are invited to speak, mentor, and judge various arbitration-focused competitions and activities.

The Arbitration Law Blog is an initiative of SEAL that seeks to engage with and contribute to the ongoing discussions within society about arbitration, while also providing a platform for emerging voices with a growing interest in arbitration law.

The blog aims to cultivate a culture of constructive dialogue by encouraging thoughtful interaction through posts, articles, and people on arbitration law, and by building engagement through comments and cross-references to related discussions. Our focus remains rooted in tradition, highlighting significant arbitral awards, recent developments in the field, and important events, while our format embraces a modern and accessible approach.
